Natalie Portman & James Franco Get Spirit Awards Nod -- Are the Oscars Next?
The nominations for the 2011 Independent Spirit Awards have been announced and many notable names have scored nods in this year's race. But could the Spirit Awards recognition be a predictor as to who will take home Oscar gold?
Oscar night could be doubly exciting for James Franco, who has been tapped to co-host the Oscars with Anne Hathaway in February. Franco is up for lead actor at the Spirit Awards for his role in 127 Hours, against Ben Stiller (Greenberg); John C. Reilly (Cyrus); Aaron Eckhart (Rabbit Hole) and Ronald Bronstein (Daddy Longlegs). Will he get Oscar love, as well?
127 Hours was also nominated for best feature and will compete against Black Swan, Winter's Bone, The Kids Are All Right and Greenberg.
Black Swan star Natalie Portman is going for the Spirit's lead actress win, and she's up against some tough competition. Also nominated in that category: Annette Bening for The Kids Are All Right; Greta Gerwig for Greenberg; Nicole Kidman for her role in Rabbit Hole; Michelle Williams for Blue Valentine and Jennifer Lawrence for Winter's Bone.
Winter's Bone came out on top of the nominations, with seven in total, while 127 Hours, Black Swan and The Kids Are All Right got multiple nods.
The Independent Spirit Awards will be handed out on Feb. 26 and will air live on IFC. Oscar nominations will be announced on Jan. 25.

'Jersey Shore' Cast To Present At 2010 'VH1 Divas'
The Situation, Snooki, Brandy, model Marissa Miller and more announced as presenters at Sunday's 'VH1 Divas Salute the Troops.'

"VH1 Divas" just got a lot more star-studded. This year's installment, which pays tribute to our nation's troops and their families, is already set to feature performances by Katy Perry, Nicki Minaj and Keri Hilson. And on Tuesday (November 30), a string of stars, including two "Jersey Shore" castmembers were announced as presenters for "2010 VH1 Divas Salute the Troops."
Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi and Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino, Brandy, Sports Illustrated swimsuit model Marisa Miller and comedian Jeffrey Ross are scheduled to present at the show, which airs on Sunday. Kathy Griffin hosts the event at Marine Corps Air Station Miramar in San Diego.
Ann and Nancy Wilson of sister act Heart have also been added to the list of performers; they'll perform alongside Grace Potter & the Nocturnals, joining a lineup that already includes Sugarland and Paramore.
In addition to commentary from troops stationed at the front lines, First Lady Michelle Obama will also participate in the "Divas" special with a telecast message.
Hilson, who is prepping the release of her album No Boys Allowed, said she was honored to join the "Divas" lineup saying, "I get to be among so many other influential women, groundbreaking women, strong, powerful, confident women, not only on that day, but just to be a part of the legacy of 'VH1 Divas.' "
"2010 VH1 Divas Salute the Troops" will air at 9 p.m. ET/PT on December 5 on VH1.

Justin Bieber's My Worlds Acoustic: A Cheat Sheet
Get the scoop on the singer's latest album, out Black Friday.

On Black Friday, the year's busiest shopping day by far, Justin Bieber will release his album, My Worlds Acoustic. It will feature one new track, "Pray," as well as acoustic reinterpretations of some of Bieber's biggest songs from his first two LPs, My World and My World 2.0.
While fans have gotten the chance to hear "Pray" as well as acoustic teases of "Favorite Girl" (when he stopped by Ryan Seacrest's radio show this month) and "Never Say Never," his musical director, Dan Kanter, tweeted what the rest of the album will sound like, saying, "Loving the percussion... Cajones and congas! Definitely an influence from our travels around the world!"
As for "Pray," Bieber has said he was inspired by a track from the King of Pop himself. "It's a very uplifting song, very motivational," he said. "It definitely comes from the heart. It's very beautiful. I definitely thought of Michael [Jackson's] 'Man in the Mirror' when I was writing it."
The album, which also features "One Time," "Baby," "One Less Lonely Girl, "Down to Earth," "U Smile," "Stuck in the Moment" and "That Should Be Me," was recorded because Bieber wanted to silence his critics. "I really think that I did an acoustic album because there's a lot of haters out there that say, 'Justin Bieber can't sing. His voice is all Auto-Tuned,' " he said. "And there's a lot with production, it kind of drowns out your voice, and it takes away from the singer, over the synths and everything.
"I think kind of stripping it down," he added, "and having it kind of really mellow and being able to hear my voice is why I wanted to do it."

PHOTO: See The First Official Pic From 'Breaking Dawn'
Hold on to your hats, Twilight fans: The first official photo from Breaking Dawn has been released! Director Bill Condon posted this intriguing shot to the official Twilight Facebook page as a holiday treat.
"Happy Thanksgiving and a crazy Black Friday to all of you and yours," he wrote.
For those who have read the fourth installment in the vampire series, this pic of Kristen Stewart's hand holding feathers is very telling. But, if you haven't picked up a copy of Stephenie Meyer's tale of bleeding love, we'll let you in on what all of this means in one word: sex!
As you may have heard, Bella and Edward finally consummate their relationship on their honeymoon, and their passionate romp results in a broken headboard and torn pillows -- hence the feathers.
Twi-hards can barely contain themselves at the thought of seeing real-life loves Stewart and Robert Pattinson get steamy on screen. But Condon's release of the suggestive feather photo is bound to tickle their fancy even more.
