Four weeks after checking himself into rehab, David Arquette has been released.
"He has completed treatment and has left the facility," his rep confirmed to UsMagazine.com on Sunday.
A friend of Arquette's says the actor, who seemed to head down a bad path after separating from wife Courteney Cox, has a new outlook on life.
"He is very committed to his sobriety and a changed person because of his experience," the source says. "He realizes now how out of control things got and doesn't want that to happen again."
The Scream 4 star, 39, plans on continuing with out-patient treatment. "He plans on going to meetings everyday and is completely focused on what he has learned."
And he's not without a solid support system. "His family is behind him 100 percent and visited him often in rehab," the source adds.
